This guide covers all six Minecraft Dungeons DLC packs, how they differ, and what order to buy them in.
There are six in total, each adding new areas, missions, enemies and gear. Development of the base game has already ended, so these six are all there will ever be.

What are the six DLC packs?
The answer: they were released in order, and the last one, Echoing Void, closes out the story of the Orb of Dominance.

Every pack adds new missions, new enemies and new weapons and armor. Some also bring their own dungeon mechanics — Hidden Depths, with its underwater theme, is the clearest example.
What is the real reason to buy DLC?
The answer: the expanded gear pool matters more than the extra missions.
What usually stalls players in this game is the item they want never dropping. Adding DLC widens the pool of gear that can drop, which widens the builds available to you.
The other significant benefit is having more places to run. Bought at the point where repeating the same missions has started to grate, DLC extends how long the game stays enjoyable.
Which edition should you buy?

▶ Ultimate DLC Bundle — all six packs for players who already own the base game
If you already own the base game, the Ultimate DLC Bundle is the match; if you are starting fresh, the Ultimate Edition is. Either way, bundling costs less than buying the packs one at a time.
What order should you buy them in?
The answer: release order is the safe choice if you are buying one at a time. If you are buying all six, order does not matter.

① Jungle Awakens — the first pack. Gentle difficulty, a good warm-up
② Creeping Winter — snowfields. By here you will know whether the DLC suits you
③ After that, pick by which setting appeals to you
④ Leave Echoing Void for last — it is the story’s conclusion
Echoing Void is the only one where order genuinely matters. Playing it early breaks the sequence of the story, so save it for the end.
When should you buy DLC?
The answer: after you have cleared the base game’s final mission, Obsidian Pinnacle.
Adding DLC early does not work, because your gear will not have the power to run it. Finish the base story and unlock the higher difficulties first, then expand.
Conversely, the moment the base missions start to feel repetitive is a good time to buy. That is precisely the problem DLC solves.
Who should skip the DLC?
▶ You have not cleared the base game — getting to Obsidian Pinnacle first is faster
▶ You are unsure whether looter-slashers suit you — decide on the base game
▶ You are planning to wait for Minecraft Dungeons II — the sequel arrived on 29 September 2026
That third one is a genuinely reasonable position. The base game’s final update was version 1.17.0.0 on 30 November 2022, and the end of development was announced on 28 September 2023. No further DLC is coming either.
